Proofreader and Editor
Meet Sue Jutkowitz, the copyeditor and proofreader who reviews every Blend of Bites post before publication.
Blend of Bites is written by humans — and before anything goes live, a human proofreader and editor reads it.
That extra step is simple, but it matters. It helps us publish clearer content and avoid sloppy mistakes (especially on sensitive topics).
This page explains who does that work and what “editorial review” means on our site.

What Sue reviews on Blend of Bites
Sue reviews every post and page that goes live on Blend of Bites — just before we publish it.
This includes: - recipes - nutrition/ingredient articles - sitewide pages (About, Contact, and other trust pages)
What this review covers (plain English)
Sue’s role is to make the writing clearer and easier to trust — without changing what we actually mean.
In practice, that includes checks for:
- grammar, spelling, punctuation, and consistency
- unclear or confusing sentences (and how to make them easier to understand)
- internal consistency (terms, headings, formatting)
- tone and readability (especially for non-native English readers)
- obvious contradictions or missing context that could confuse readers
- whether disclosures and cautionary language are clear when needed (for example: “not medical advice”)
What this review does not mean
Editorial review is not the same as medical review.
- Sue is not a doctor or registered dietitian, and she does not provide medical advice.
- For nutrition and wellness topics, we rely on careful research, reputable sources, and cautious language. See: Editorial Standards and Disclaimer.
How this helps readers (and trust)
This extra human step helps us: - publish clearer, more readable content - reduce errors and ambiguity - keep our voice consistent across the site - be transparent about how content is produced and reviewed
If you ever see something that looks unclear, misleading, or unsafe, please tell us. We take corrections seriously.
