This page explains your privacy choices related to advertising and certain data sharing on Blend of Bites, and how to control them.
Blend of Bites is operated by Qwayk LLC.
For full details, read:
Quick summary
- Use the footer button “DO NOT SELL OR SHARE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION” to manage ad-related privacy choices.
- If you opt out, you should still see ads — they may just be less personalized.
- If you use multiple browsers/devices, you may need to set your choice more than once.
1) What this page is for (plain English)
Blend of Bites is supported by advertising (Mediavine) and affiliate links (including Amazon Associates). Advertising technology can use cookies and similar identifiers to show and measure ads, and in some cases to show interest-based (“targeted”) ads.
US privacy laws (including in California and many other states) give you rights to opt out of certain advertising-related data sharing, sometimes described as:
- “sale” of personal information (broadly defined), and/or
- “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and/or
- “targeted advertising”
This page gives you a simple way to manage those choices.
2) Quick definitions (no legal jargon)
Sale (broad meaning): sharing certain identifiers with advertising partners in exchange for value (for example, to fund the free content you read).
Share / targeted advertising: using information about your browsing to show ads that match your interests across different websites or apps.
Sensitive personal information: some laws treat certain data as “sensitive” (for example, precise location). Where this applies, you may have the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. You can manage this through the same preference controls below, where available.
3) Manage your privacy preferences (the important part)
Option A (recommended): use the on-site privacy button
On our site, look for the footer button labeled:
“DO NOT SELL OR SHARE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION”
Use it to open our preference center and save your choices.
Tip: If you don’t see the button right away, scroll to the site footer and look for it there.
What to change in the preference center
In the preference center, look for options related to:
- opting out of targeted advertising (sometimes labeled “targeted advertising,” “personalized ads,” or similar)
- opting out of sale or sharing (as defined by some privacy laws)
- limiting the use of sensitive personal information (if shown)
Save your choices when you’re done.
4) Global Privacy Control (GPC)
Some browsers and extensions send a signal called Global Privacy Control (GPC). When supported by our consent tools and required by law, we treat GPC as a request to opt out of certain advertising-related data sharing.
You can usually enable GPC in your browser settings or with a browser extension.
5) Important notes (so expectations are clear)
- Your choices are usually browser/device-specific. If you switch browsers or devices, you may need to set your choices again.
- If you opt out, you should still see ads, but they may be non-personalized.
- You do not need to create an account or provide your email to opt out of targeted advertising on this browser/device.
- Ad blockers can break preference tools. If you don’t see the button or preference center, try temporarily disabling blockers for this site, or contact us.
6) Industry opt-out tools (optional)
These tools can help you manage interest-based advertising across many companies (not just this site):
- Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA): https://optout.aboutads.info/
- Network Advertising Initiative (NAI): https://thenai.org/opt-out/
7) Other privacy rights (access / delete / correct)
This page is focused on advertising-related choices. If you want to request access to, deletion of, or correction of information we hold about you (for example, newsletter membership data), contact:
