    1. Add vodka to the mixture and stir.
    1. Insert a shot syringe into the mixture and pull the plunger up until you fill the syringe. Repeat with the remaining syringes.
    1. Keep the syringes lying flat on a container. Store them in the refrigerator for at least four hours for the Jello to solidify.
    1. For serving, divide the ice cubes into tall glasses or serving bowls and place the syringes.

    Substitutions

    • Vodka — For being a neutral spirit, vodka works very well in Jello shot recipes, but there are other spirit options. You can use white rum, gin, whiskey, tequila, and brandy. You can also use flavored vodka varieties. Matching the fruit-flavored vodka with the Jello flavoring is also another option.

    Variations

    • Make it alcohol-free — You can omit alcohol altogether and prepare alcohol-free Jello shot syringes if your company wants. It's also possible to make two batches of Jello shot syringes — one with a spirit and the other alcohol-free.
    • Make it vegan — Regular Jello brands are not suitable for vegetarians and vegans. For people on a vegetarian or vegan diet, there are plant-based options. You can use the same amount of vegan gelatin for the recipe.

    Equipment

    • Measuring cups
    • Mixing bowl
    • 16 food syringes, 1.5 ounces
    • Tall glasses or serving bowls

    Storage

    • You can store Jello shot syringes for up to three days in the fridge. This means they are suitable for preparing ahead to save time especially when preparing for a crowd.
    • We do not recommend freezing for this recipe, as it will affect the texture.

    Pro Tips

For a more stylish presentation, you can make two colored syringes. If you are going to add extra color to your Jello shot syringes, here are the steps to follow:

    • Prepare the first batch of Jello shots. Insert the syringe into the mixture and pull the plunger until the syringe is half full. Store in the fridge until the liquid solidifies.
    • Make the second batch with a different colored Jello package.
    • Pull the plungers out of the syringes you made in the first batch.
    • Take a syringe and insert it into the second mix. Pour the liquid over the solidified Jello. Put the plungers back. Store the syringes in the fridge for another three hours.
