Ingredients

  • 1 pound silken tofu
  • tbsp. light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. honey optional
  • tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 scallions sliced
  • tbsp. chili pepper optional
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • tbsp. sugar
  • 1 onion chopped

Instructions

  • Remove the excess liquid from the package, before extracting the silken tofu.
  • Place the tofu on a paper towel to soak up the excess liquid.
  • Heat some vegetable oil in a frying pan, on medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped onion. Saute until translucent. Be careful not to burn the onion and the garlic.
  • After they turn brown, lower the heat and pour the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, vegetable broth, and sugar into the pan.
  • Let it simmer for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Pour the sauce over the silken tofu, which should be dried by now.
  • Add chopped scallions and chili pepper on top before serving.
