Ingredients
  

  • 4 pounds pears
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • tbsp. ground ginger
  • tbsp. ground nutmeg
  • tbsp. cloves optional
  • tbsp. honey optional
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups water

Instructions
 

  • Add the pears, sugar, and water to a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Bring to a boil, and follow up by adding the cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  • Optional — For sweeter butter, add cloves or honey.
  • Cook until the pears are soft. Stir well.
  • Blend the pear mixture until it is smooth.
  • Pour the pear butter into jars and seal them.
  • Store the jars in a cool, dark place, or in your refrigerator.
