Ingredients
  

  • 2 ½ pounds ground beef
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 pc. onion diced
  • 1 pc. green bell pepper diced
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp. tomato paste
  • Kaiser rolls as needed

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter in a pot.
  • Add the ground meat, break it into pieces, and cook until brown.
  • Drain the excess fat.
  • Rinse and dry the vegetables.
  • Add them to the pot. Cook until soft.
  • Pour some tomato paste into the pot. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Stir until combined.
  • If you find your mixture a bit thick, add a glass of water.
  • Then add brown sugar, dry mustard, and chili powder.
  • Let it simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Toast the kaiser rolls, adding some butter to them.

  • Use lean beef — Remember that part about draining the excess fat? Choosing lean beef will remove that problem for you. Keep in mind that the most optimal fat ratio is generally 80/20.
