Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp. cooking oil spray
  • 1 ½ lbs. ground beef
  • 1 cup yellow onion chopped
  • ½ cup red bell pepper chopped
  • ½ cup celery chopped
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp. white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. ground black pepper
  • ½ cup water

Instructions
 

  • Spray a large deep pan with oil and heat over medium heat.
  • Add the ground beef to the pan, and cook until slightly browned. Use a wooden spatula to break up the meat.
  • Add the chopped vegetables to the pan and cook on medium-low heat until softened.
  • Add all the rest of the ingredients to the pan and simmer for 30 minutes over low heat.

Notes

  • Use good quality ground beef Use grass-fed ground beef for a delicious and healthy dish. Grass-fed beef contains a lower quantity of fats, especially saturated fats, than grain-fed beef, which will result in a healthier and more flavorful dish.
 
  • Drain the excess fat — After browning the ground beef, eliminate any excess fat by draining it.
