Set your oven to 350 degrees.
Combine the flour, salt, baking soda, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl. Stir well.
Using another mixing bowl, combine the sugar, oil, vanilla extract, and eggs. Stir until smooth.
Combine the dry and the wet mixtures in a single bowl.
Make sure to stir until smooth.
Add the apples, raisins, and chopped walnuts.
Transfer the batter to a lightly greased baking pan.
Bake for 45 minutes.
In the meantime, melt the butter in a pan.
Add the milk and brown sugar.
Bring them to a boil and stir for two minutes.
Remove from the heat. Add the vanilla extract.
Once your cake is baked, give it ten minutes to cool down. Then, pour the caramel glaze mixture over the cake.
