Ingredients
  

  • cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. onion powder
  • 2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. sea salt
  • 2 tbsp. smoked paprika

Instructions
 

  • Put all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl.
  • Give it a good mix to make sure there are no clumps.
  • Transfer the mixture to an airtight container.

Notes

  • The powder — While there are some variations of the Hey Grill Hey’s sweet rub recipe that calls for granulated onion and granulated garlic, we don’t really recommend that. Onion powder, as well as garlic powder, are simply finer, so the consistency is much better for this signature sweet rub.
 
  • Safety first — Keep in mind that you should throw away any extra rub that has touched raw meat. Also, make sure that your hands are clean before applying the rub.
