Equipment

  • Blender or food processor
  • Ice cream maker
  • Airtight container

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Strawberries fresh or frozen
  • 2 cups Pineapple fresh or canned
  • ½ cup Orange juice freshly squeezed
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • Rainbow sprinkles for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Begin by preparing the fruit. Wash and hull the strawberries, then cut them into small pieces. Peel the pineapple, remove the core, and chop it into chunks.
  • In a blender or food processor, combine the strawberries, pineapple, orange juice, and sugar. Blend until smooth and well combined.
  • Add the evaporated milk and vanilla extract to the blender. Blend again until everything is fully incorporated.
  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. This usually takes about 20-25 minutes.
  • Transfer the semi-frozen guri guri to an airtight container and place it in the freezer for at least 3 hours to firm up.
  • Scoop the chilled guri guri into serving bowls or cones. Sprinkle with rainbow sprinkles if desired for a festive touch.
  • Enjoy the refreshing guri guri immediately, savoring each spoonful of this Hawaiian delight.

Notes

  • Vary the fruit – Feel free to experiment with different fruits based on your preferences. Mangoes, peaches, or even a combination of tropical fruits can be used to create your unique guri guri flavor.
  • Make it creamier – If you prefer a creamier texture, you can increase the amount of evaporated milk. However, be cautious not to add too much, as it can overwhelm the fruity essence of the guri guri.
  • Serve with a twist – Add a splash of fruit syrup or chocolate sauce to the guri guri just before serving for an extra burst of flavor.
