Set your oven to 400°F degrees and grease a baking sheet generously with food spray.
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Add the chicken drumettes and toss to coat. Shake off the excess flour.
Place the chicken drumettes on the baking sheet and transfer to the oven.
Bake for 30 minutes, and don’t forget to rotate the drumettes after the first 15 minutes.
In the meantime, combine the sauce ingredients in a large saucepan to prepare the sauce.
Bring the sauce mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
Remove the newly-baked chicken drumettes from the oven and place them in a bowl.
Pour the sauce over the drumettes and toss to coat. Serve immediately.

Notes
The baking powder — There are lots of different chicken drumettes recipes out there, and some, if not most, do not use baking powder to coat the chicken. While there is nothing wrong with that, keep in mind that using baking powder will result in crispier wings. Also, don’t substitute baking powder with baking soda. The latter simply won’t work.
The sauce — Letting the chicken drumettes rest for 5-10 minutes before pouring the sauce will improve your dish. Otherwise, the breading simply won’t be as strong.
