Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or aluminum foil
  • Large bowl
  • Serving dish

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Green beans trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Black pepper
  • ¼ cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest
  • ½ teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes
  • ¼ cup Sliced almonds

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  • In a large bowl, combine the trimmed green beans, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the beans are evenly coated in the seasoning.
  • Spread the seasoned green beans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they are not overcrowded to ensure even roasting.
  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 15-20 minutes, or until the green beans are tender and slightly charred, stirring once halfway through cooking.
  • Remove the roasted green beans from the oven and transfer them to a serving dish. If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, lemon zest, crushed red pepper flakes, or sliced almonds for added flavor and texture.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy the vibrant flavors and satisfying crunch of these roasted green beans.

Notes

  • Trimming the green beans — Make sure to trim off the tough ends of the green beans before roasting. This ensures a more enjoyable eating experience and prevents any stringy or chewy bits.

  • Even seasoning — When tossing the green beans with the seasonings, make sure to coat them evenly. This can be achieved by using your hands to massage the beans gently, ensuring that each one is coated in a flavorful mixture.

  • High heat roasting — Preheating the oven to a high temperature and roasting the green beans at 425°F (220°C) allows them to develop a delicious char and retain their crispness. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.

  • Customize the toppings — Feel free to get creative with the optional additions. Experiment with different cheeses, nuts, or citrus zests to add your own personal touch to the roasted green beans.
