Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or cooking spray
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Spatula or spoon
  • Knife and cutting board

Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized Potatoes Russet or Yukon Gold
  • ½ cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  • Wash the potatoes thoroughly and pat them dry. Leave the skin on for added texture and flavor. Cut the potatoes into bite-sized cubes, ensuring they are relatively uniform in size for even cooking.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  • Add the potato cubes to the bowl and toss them gently to coat them with the Parmesan mixture. Make sure each potato cube is well coated for maximum flavor.
  • Transfer the coated potato cubes to the prepared baking sheet, spreading them out in a single layer. This allows them to crisp up evenly.
  • Bake the potatoes in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Flip them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning.
  • Once the potatoes are cooked to perfection, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. This allows them to crisp up even more.
  • Serve the crispy Parmesan potatoes as a delightful side dish or a tasty snack. They pair well with a variety of main courses and are sure to impress your taste buds.

Notes

  • Uniform potato cubes — Cutting the potatoes into relatively uniform cubes ensures even cooking. This way, you'll end up with crispy potatoes that are tender on the inside.

  • Coating the potatoes — When tossing the potatoes in the Parmesan mixture, use your hands or a spoon to ensure each potato cube is well coated. This will ensure maximum flavor and crispiness.

  • Single layer baking — Spreading the coated potato cubes in a single layer on the baking sheet allows them to crisp up evenly. Crowding the potatoes may result in uneven cooking and less crispy results.

  • Flipping halfway through — Flipping the potatoes halfway through the cooking time ensures that both sides become golden brown and crispy. It's a simple step that makes a big difference in the final texture.

  • Serve immediately — Crispy Parmesan potatoes are best enjoyed immediately after baking when they are at their crispiest. The longer they sit, the more they may lose their crunchiness.
