A healthy diet is simply not complete without a cheat meal every now and then. A cheat meal will be a part of any diet, regardless of the specifics, so you can only choose what it will be. Needless to say, there are still boundaries and lines, so a 1000-calorie meal is out of the question. Instead, this is a well-crafted, above-average calorie meal. When it comes to that, Rock's French toast recipe is the one to go.
Although he is a movie star these days, don’t let that confuse you. The Rock is, first and foremost, a force of nature in everything bodybuilding and diet. Hence, it’s no surprise that one of the best cheat meals ever comes from the man himself. This French toast packs a good amount of calories, but every single one of them is worth it. The crunchy Challah bread is soaked in a perfect egg-vanilla mixture, toasted to perfection, and topped with a savory banana foster sauce. Oh, and it’s served with roasted macadamia nuts. Can it really get any better?

- Set aside for now.
- Then, combine the eggs, whole milk, cinnamon, and the remaining 1 tbsp. vanilla extract in a mixing bowl.

Substitutions
- Vanilla extract — Vanilla extract is fairly common in various French toast recipes, and I believe vanilla extract is just fine. I also tried almond extract, and I was satisfied. You can substitute the two in a 2/1 ratio.
- Challah bread — You have three alternatives when it comes to French toast, and they are challah, Brioche, and French baguette. The Rock’s French toast recipe calls for challah and works well. Still, I’ve tried the other two, and they fit the recipe like a glove.
- Macadamia nuts — The Rock prefers to top his French toast with roasted macadamia nuts, but I realized walnuts, cashews, and pecans are also great.
Variations
- Toppings — If you’d like to stay true to the Rock’s French toast recipe, don’t look further than roasted macadamia nuts for topping. But why wouldn’t you add a personal touch? After all, this is a copycat recipe. While you can’t go wrong with maple syrup and honey, remember that life favors the bold. Experiment with other toppings like bacon, Nutella, and cinnamon. Oh, and depending on the season, you could also consider some fresh fruits.
