Equipment

  • Grill
  • Aluminum foil
  • Small bowl
  • Basting brush or spoon

Ingredients

  • 4 ears Fresh corn on the cob
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter softened
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • ½ cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Black pepper

Instructions

  • Start by preparing the garlic butter mixture. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are fully incorporated. Set aside for now.
  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Meanwhile, peel back the husks of the corn, but leave them attached at the base. Remove the silk threads from the corn.
  • Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over each ear of corn, making sure to cover all sides. The butter will help the Parmesan cheese and garlic adhere to the corn, creating a flavorful coating.
  • Wrap each ear of corn tightly in aluminum foil, ensuring that the buttered side is facing inward. This will help the corn cook evenly and retain its moisture.
  • Place the foil-wrapped corn on the preheated grill and cook for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally. The corn is ready when it becomes tender and slightly charred.
  • Remove the corn from the grill and carefully unwrap the foil. Be cautious as the corn will be hot. Serve immediately and enjoy the delicious Parmesan garlic butter corn.

Notes

  • Fresh corn selection — Choose ears of corn that have bright green husks and plump kernels. Gently peel back a small section of the husk to ensure the kernels are firm and juicy.

  • Soaking the corn — For an extra burst of flavor and moisture, soak the unhusked corn in cold water for 15-30 minutes before grilling. This will prevent the corn from drying out during the cooking process.

  • Grilling time — Keep a close eye on the corn while grilling to prevent it from becoming overcooked or charred. The cooking time may vary depending on the heat of your grill, so adjust accordingly.

  • Customize the seasonings — Feel free to experiment with additional seasonings or herbs to suit your taste preferences. Smoked paprika, chili powder, or even a sprinkle of lime juice can add a delightful twist to the Parmesan garlic butter corn.
