    Substitutions

    • Olive oil — The Blackstone tortellini recipe calls for various ingredients, and most are crucial to making the final dish. With that being said, olive oil is not one of those. You can use any kind of vegetable oil instead. Avocado and canola are always safe choices.
    • Parmesan cheese — You can easily get away with using parmesan cheese in most pasta recipes, and the Blackstone tortellini recipe is no exception. The downside, however, is that it could become boring. If that's the case, mozzarella and cheddar are recommended.
    • Pasta sauce — This is where you get to have fun. You can make this Blackstone tortellini recipe with different kinds of pasta sauce; there is no definite answer to this one. It boils down to personal preference. If you like Alfredo sauce's creamy, cheesy flavor, go with it. Bolognese sauce is better if you’re looking for something meatier.
    • Cherry tomatoes — Cherry tomatoes work great in this Blackstone tortellini recipe as they are small and juicy, with each bite exploding in your mouth. That said, you could easily replace cherry tomatoes with regular tomatoes. Chop them into bite-sized pieces, and it will be just fine.

    Variations

    • Meaty — What makes this Blackstone tortellini recipe so great is that it’s a fairly minimal one, opting to leave you room for interpretation. You might want to consider making the dish a bit meatier. Chopped Kielbasa Polska is the most common choice. Ground beef and ground poultry would also work well.
    • Spicy — There are various Blackstone tortellini recipes out there, but most are milder in flavor. If you prefer your dish with some spice, go ahead and add some smoked paprika, a teaspoon, into the mix.

    Equipment

    • Measuring cups and spoons
    • Blackstone griddle
    • Pot

    Storage

    • First, allow your dish to cool completely. After, transfer the leftovers to an airtight container. You could use plastic bags for that purpose as well.
    • Once stored in your refrigerator, the leftovers will last for five days at most.

    Pro Tips

    • Salt the water — While this Blackstone tortellini recipe doesn’t include step-by-step instructions to cook the pasta, you should be able to do that easily by following the package instructions. Just keep in mind that you should always salt the pasta water. This way, the pasta cooks evenly and more quickly.
    • Don’t rinse — Here’s another great tip. Some say not to rinse the pasta. This will help the pasta soak up the sauce much easier.
