Masterchef’s beef short ribs recipe is the ultimate proof that short ribs can go a long way.

Braised short ribs combined with some savory condiments and hearty vegetables make a great main dish. The short ribs are braised for a few hours to get them as tender as possible, all the while preserving their juice and increasing their flavor. While it’s true that Masterchef’s beef short ribs recipe will take time, it’s worth it in the end.

    1. Set your oven to 325 degrees and cook for 2 ½-3 hours.

    Substitutions

    • Red wine — Masterchef’s beef short ribs recipe, when made with red wine, is simply superb. But this recipe could also be made alcohol-free. If you can find alcohol-free red wine, great. If not, red wine vinegar would work as well. Your other options are pomegranate juice and cranberry juice.
    • Cooking oil — Using extra-virgin olive oil probably suits beef short ribs the best. Avocado oil or canola oil are suitable as well.
    • Chicken stock — Chicken stock is a crucial ingredient in Masterchef’s beef short ribs recipe, but you can replace it with vegetable broth which has a rich and hearty flavor. Beef broth and beef bouillon cubes would be great as well.

    Variations

    • Serve properly — While Masterchef’s beef short ribs recipe makes a delicious main dish, it should be served with a proper side dish like other meat recipes. Pasta and short ribs make a great pair. Mashed potatoes and steamed rice can both be relied upon as well.
    • Taco Tuesday — Short ribs make great tacos, but it comes with some extra work. Once your dish is cooked and ready, take some time and put some work into shredding the meat into smaller pieces. Add some soy sauce to the mixture, heat the tortillas in a pan, and you are all set!

    Storage

    • Transfer any leftover braised short ribs into an airtight container. Once stored in your fridge, the leftovers will last for four days.
    • They will last for two months in the freezer.
    • Don’t forget to thaw the leftovers overnight if you’ve frozen them.

    Pro Tips

    • Thicken it — Once you add the red wine and bring the mixture to a boil, you might have realized that the liquid may have been reduced by up to half. If you think your dish is in need of thickening, add some tomato paste to the mix.
    • Go with bone-in — It seems like boneless short ribs are also a thing. While you could still go for those in Masterchef’s beef short ribs recipe, the dish is at its best when done with bone-in ribs. The bones provide a definite unique flavor.

Made this recipe 2 days ago. I had to cut half and make a smaller batch and I cooked on top of the stove. It tasted delicious. Loved it. I could taste the wine just a hint. Can't wait to make
It again two. Two thumbs up.
